AN HONEST TAXI DRIVER RETURNS LOST GOLD ORNAMENTS

Kolkata, August 26, 2026: An honest taxi driver set a great example of honesty by returning gold ornaments worth about ₹4 lakh to a passenger who forgot them in his taxi. Yesterday afternoon, the driver, Ram Das, dropped a passenger named Rahul Banerjee from Howrah Station to Salt Lake. While getting down in a hurry, the passenger left a small bag on the back seat. Later, while cleaning his taxi, the driver found the bag. He opened it and saw gold bangles, a gold necklace, and earrings inside .He did not keep the jewellery. Instead, he went straight to the nearby police station and handed over the bag to the police officers. The police contacted the passenger, who had already lodged a complaint. The passenger came to the police station and received all his ornaments back safely. He thanked the honest driver and gave him a cash reward. The police also praised the driver for his great honesty
