Group – A: Voice Change (1 × 10 = 10 marks)

Change the voice of the following sentences:

1. She sings a sweet song.

2. The manager will cancel the agreement tomorrow.

3. Have they completed the work?

4. They are watching a movie.

5. Someone has stolen my bicycle.

6. The teacher praised the student.

7. The homework must be done by you.

8. Do it at once.

9. He was writing a letter when I called him.

10. Let the door be opened.

Group – B: Narration Change (1 × 10 = 10 marks)

Change the narration:

1. He said, “I know the truth.”

2. She said to me, “Are you going to the market?”

3. They said, “We shall win the match.”

4. The teacher said, “The earth moves around the sun.”

5. She said to him, “Please help me.”

6. He said to me, “Don’t make a noise.”

7. I said, “What a beautiful flower it is!”

8. He said, “I have finished my homework.”

9. She said, “Where is my pen?”

10. He said, “Let us go for a walk.”

Group – C: Transformation of Sentences (Simple, Compound, Complex)

(1 × 5 = 5 marks)

Transform as instructed:

1. (Simple) He completed his work and went home.

2. (Compound) On hearing the news, she fainted.

3. (Complex) She was too proud to beg.

4. (Simple) If he reads carefully, he will pass.

5. (Compound) Unless you obey orders, you will be punished.


🔹 Group – D: 'Too...to' Omission (1 × 2 = 2 marks)

Rewrite by removing "too...to":

1. The boy is too lazy to succeed.

2. He is too arrogant to admit his fault.


Group – E: 'As soon as' Transformation (1 × 2 = 2 marks)

Change using "No sooner...than":

1. As soon as the bell rang, the students left the class.

2. As soon as she saw the snake, she screamed.


Group – F: Use of 'Neither...nor' (1 × 2 = 2 marks)

Combine using 'neither...nor':

1. He didn’t come. He didn’t call.

2. She doesn’t sing. She doesn’t dance.


🔹 Group – G: Degree of Comparison (1 × 5 = 5marks)

Change the degree (Positive, Comparative, Superlative as instructed):

1. Ram is stronger than Shyam. (Positive & Superlative)

2. No other metal is as valuable as gold. (Comparative & Superlative)

3. This is the best hotel in town. (Positive & Comparative)

4. Few poets are as great as Tagore. (Comparative & Superlative)

5. Mount Everest is the highest peak in the world. (Positive & Comparative)


Group – H: Verb to Noun Conversion (1 × 5 = 5 marks)

Change the verb to a noun and rewrite the sentence:

1. He refused the offer.

2. She completed the project on time.

3. We discussed the matter seriously.

4. The manager decided to cancel the meeting.

5. The teacher explained the topic clearly.
