The play A Doll’s House begins on Christmas Eve in Nora and Torvald Helmer's well-furnished living room. Nora returns home with several Christmas gifts. After Dr. Rank leaves, an angry Krogstad arrives. He demands not only his old job back but also a higher promotion at the bank.
