Narration Change Rules
Important Golden Rule: An Imperative sentence expresses an order, request, advice, or proposal. In Indirect speech, the main verb of the reported speech turns into an **Infinitive structural layout (to + verb)**. If the sentence is negative, it uses **"not to"**.

4. Standard Imperative Examples (To / Not To)
Category 1: Expressing an Order
Direct: The teacher said to the boy, “Shut the door.”
Indirect: The teacher ordered the boy to shut the door.
Category 2: Expressing a Request
Direct: He said to me, "Please give me a glass of water."
Indirect: He requested me to give him a glass of water.
Category 3: Expressing Advice
Direct: Father said to his son, "Do not run in the sun."
Indirect: Father advised his son not to run in the sun.
5. Advanced Examples (With "Let" Variations)
Category 4: "Let us" (Proposal / Suggestion)
Direct: Ram said to Shyam, "Let us go out for a walk."
Indirect: Ram proposed to Shyam that they should go out for a walk.
Category 5: Let + Pronoun (Normal Permission / Desire)
Direct: He said, "Let me come in."
Indirect: He said that he might be allowed to come in. (Or: He said that he might come in.)
