Preparation of Wood Substitute from Waste Polythene

Making wood substitute from waste polythene is a useful recycling process that involves several stages. At first, waste polythene bags are collected from various sources. Then, the bags are sorted carefully, and the dirty ones are removed to ensure the quality of the material. Next, the clean polythene is melted at a high temperature of 125°C. As a result, the polythene turns into a jelly-like substance. After that, sawdust or paddy husk is mixed thoroughly with this jelly. The mixture is then pressed by rollers and put into moulds to give it the desired shape. Subsequently, the moulds are cooled in water to harden. Finally, the products are finished and ready for use.
