চোরে চোরে মাসতুতো ভাই

অসময়ের বন্ধুই প্রকৃত বন্ধু

 The grapes are sour

আঙুর ফল টক/পান না তাই খাননা

যতক্ষণ শ্বাস, ততক্ষণ আশ 

All covet all lost/Grasp all, lose all

অতিলোভে তাঁতি নষ্ট

Tit for tat

ঢিলটি মারলে পাটকেলটি খেতে হয়

Unity is strength

একতাই বল

 সব ভালো যার শেষ ভালো

All that glitters is not gold

চক্চক্ করলেই সোনা হয় না

A rolling stone gathers no moss

চঞ্চলমতি ব্যক্তির প্রতিষ্ঠা হয় না

As you sow, so you reap

যেমন কর্ম তেমন ফল

Self help is the best help

স্বাবলম্বন সর্বশ্রেষ্ঠ অবলম্বন

Charity begins at home

আগে ঘর তবে পর

A tree is known by fruit

(এখানে known এর পর to হবে না কারণ proverb)

ফল দিয়েই গাছকে চেনা যায়

Look before you leap

পা বাড়ানোর আগে ভেবে দেখো

Make hay while the sun shines

ঝোপ বুঝে কোপ মারো

No pains, no gains

'দুঃখ বিনা সুখ লাভ হয় কী মহীতে'

Waste not, want not

অপচয় না করলে অভাব হয় না

Where there is a will, there is a way

ইচ্ছা থাকলে উপায় হয়

To err is human, to forgive divine
