My favourite subject is Science. I am attracted to it because it helps us understand the world around us. This great Indian scientist was eventually crowned with glory when he was awarded Knighthood by the British government in 1917. He was also conferred many other awards like 'Fellow of the Royal Society', 'Companion of the Order of the Indian Empire' etc. Needless to say, he is one of the greatest scientists ever born in our country.
Sir J. C. Bose wrote several books and published many research papers in leading science journals. Some of his famous books are Response in the Living and the Non-living (1902), The Nervous Mechanism of Plants (1926), Major Mechanism of Plants (1928) etc. In 1896, Bose wrote Niruddesher Khoje, a science fiction. In fact, he was the first writer of science fiction in Bangla.
In November 1917, Bose founded the Bose Institute at his own house in Calcutta. He donated the Bose Institute to the nation for research on science. This great Indian Scientist breathed his last on 23rd November, 1937.

Ekalavya was a young boy living with his tribe, deep in the forest. His aim in life was to become the finest archer the world had ever seen. However, when he asked to become Guru Drona's student, he was refused by Drona due to his low status. Drona was the great teacher who was busy teaching the princes, the Pandavas and the Kaurava brothers, at his ashram. When Ekalavya was refused, he created a statue of Drona and practised archery before it until he became incredibly skilled. However, when Drona encountered him and learned of his accomplishments, he was afraid that a tribal boy would surpass his best student, Arjuna. On his demand, Ekalavya sacrificed his own right thumb as the payment for learning under his name. Without questioning Drona, Ekalavya immediately cut off his right thumb and gave it to him. Therefore, he was unable to become the best archer in the world.
