The Consequence of Greed

Once upon a time in a deep forest, there lived a clever fox and a greedy wolf. One day, both of them sat together and began to talk about a secret prescription for eternal youth and eternal life. They whispered among themselves that whoever followed their idea could remain young and live forever.

The news spread all over the forest. All the animals became very curious to know about the wonderful prescription. But whenever any animal asked the wolf or the fox, they only laughed and kept it a secret. Nobody could understand what it was.

One day, a little rabbit boldly said, “I know the prescription! The secret meal is made with the wolf’s heart and the fox’s lungs.” All the other animals were surprised to hear this. They thought the rabbit must be telling the truth. Without wasting any time, they attacked the wolf and the fox. Soon both of them were killed, and the animals prepared the strange meal.

Thus, the greedy wolf and the cunning fox were punished for their foolish conspiracy. The rabbit became a hero, and peace returned to the forest.

Moral: Greed and cunning plans always lead to destruction.

নেকড়ে, শিয়াল আর ভুয়ো ওষুধ

এক সময় এক জঙ্গলে থাকত এক নেকড়ে আর এক ধূর্ত শিয়াল। একদিন তারা দু’জনে বসে চক্রান্ত করতে লাগল। তারা বলল, তারা নাকি এমন এক অদ্ভুত ওষুধের সন্ধান পেয়েছে, যেটি খেলে যে কেউ চিরযৌবন আর অমরত্ব লাভ করবে।

এই খবর ছড়িয়ে পড়ল সারা জঙ্গলে। সব পশুপাখি উৎসুক হয়ে উঠল। কিন্তু যখনই তারা নেকড়ে বা শিয়ালকে জিজ্ঞাসা করত, তারা রহস্যময়ভাবে হেসে উঠত, কিছুই বলত না।

শেষে এক ছোট্ট খরগোশ সাহস করে বলল, “আমি জানি সেই ওষুধ কী! সেটি তৈরি হয় নেকড়ের হৃদপিণ্ড আর শিয়ালের ফুসফুস দিয়ে।” অন্য সব প্রাণীরা খরগোশের কথা বিশ্বাস করে ফেলল। সঙ্গে সঙ্গে তারা নেকড়ে আর শিয়ালকে মেরে ফেলল।

এইভাবে ধূর্ততা আর লোভের কারণে নেকড়ে আর শিয়ালের ভয়ানক পরিণতি ঘটল। খরগোশ বুদ্ধির জোরে জঙ্গলের নায়ক হয়ে উঠল।

নৈতিক শিক্ষা: লোভ ও কপটতা সর্বনাশ ডেকে আনে।
