Reading Comprehension (Seen)
Read the following text and answer the questions:
One day there was a grand wind for kite-flying. I'm not sure how it happened, but as I was bringing the kite from the house, I tripped and fell over the rocks. My elbow went clear through the kite, making a big hole.
We had to hurry to fix the kite if we wanted to send it up before the wind fell. We rushed into the lighthouse to get some paper. We knew there was no more red paper. We took the first thing that came handy — an old letter lying on the bookcase in the sitting room. We patched the kite up with the letter, a sheet on each side and dried it by the fire. We started out, and up went the kite like a bird. The wind was glorious and it soared. All at once — snap! And there was Claude, standing with a bit of cord in his hand, looking foolish. Our kite had sailed away over to the mainland.

To occupy my place.
If I’m not so large as you,
You are not so small as I,

Talents differ; all is well and wisely put;
If I cannot carry forests on my back,
Neither can you crack a nut.’

Read the passage carefully and answer the questions:
Imagine a world where machines can create things just like humans do. This is the exciting idea behind generative AI, a type of technology that can write stories, draw pictures, and even compose music. Generative AI is likely as important to our civilization as the discovery of fire, the invention of wheel, and electricity or the radio waves.
The rise of AI began in the late 2010s and gained prominence in the early 2020s, especially with the success of ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI and co-founded by Elon Musk and Sam Altman. Before this, we had chatbots like Google Assistant, Alexa, Cortana, and Siri. While they were helpful, they relied on pre-programmed responses and struggled to understand complex language and conversations. In contrast, ChatGPT acts like a smart friend who can chat anytime. It can be used flexibly in areas like customer service, academics, and even as a personal instructor.
Google’s Gemini is another cool AI that provides us with smart suggestions in tools like Gmail and Google Drive, making our tasks easier and more efficient. Google, led by Sundar Pichai, has invested heavily in AI in the past few years, integrating it into many of its services. Another AI, Claude, focuses on using AI responsibly to keep people safe and protect against potential risks. Midjourney, led by David Holz, and DALL-E also from OpenAI, are tools that help artists create beautiful images and digital art, expanding creative possibilities.
While AI has many benefits, it can also be misused, leading to problems like spreading false information or invading privacy. Therefore, using AI responsibly is very important. Generative AI models are not just useful today; they promise a future filled with more personalized interactions and creative opportunities. By embracing these technologies, we are certainly stepping into an era where AI can improve our lives in ways that we are just beginning to discover.
A. Tick (✔) the right answer:
(i) Which AI model was developed by OpenAI and co-founded by Sam Altman?
(a) DALL-E (b) Claude (c) ChatGPT (d) Alexa
(ii) One useful application of ChatGPT as mentioned in the passage is —
(a) gaming (b) customer service (c) sports coaching (d) cooking
(iii) Who is the person behind Google’s recent development in the area of AI?
(a) Elon Musk (b) Sam Altman (c) Sundar Pichai (d) David Holz
(iv) The AI that provides us with smart suggestions in tools like Gmail and Google Drive is —
(a) Google Assistant (b) Gemini (c) Cortana (d) ChatGPT
(v) According to the passage, Claude focuses on —
(a) enhancing users’ experience (b) making ethical decisions and ensuring safety (c) increasing sales for business (d) creating visual art
