পাঁশকুড়া থেকে উঠে এলো এক মর্মান্তিক ঘটনা। চিপসের প্যাকেট চুরি করার মিথ্যা অপবাদে আত্মঘাতী হল এক সপ্তম শ্রেণির ছাত্র কৃষ্ণেন্দু দাস। এই ঘটনার জন্য অভিযুক্ত এলাকারই সিভিক ভলান্টিয়ার ও দোকানদার শুভঙ্কর দীক্ষিত।

পরিবার সূত্রে জানা যায়, কৃষ্ণেন্দু স্থানীয় বাজারে একটি চিপসের প্যাকেট কিনতে গিয়েছিল। সে শুভঙ্কর দীক্ষিতের দোকানে যায়, কিন্তু দোকানদারকে একাধিকবার ডাকলেও কোনও সাড়া মেলেনি। এরপর দোকানের বাইরে একটি চিপসের প্যাকেট পড়ে থাকতে দেখে কৃষ্ণেন্দু সেটি কুড়িয়ে নেয়।

বাড়ি ফেরার পথে শুভঙ্কর দীক্ষিত মোটরবাইকে চড়ে কৃষ্ণেন্দুকে ধাওয়া করে। তাকে ধরে এনে চুরির অভিযোগে ভরা বাজারে কান ধরে ওঠবস করানো হয় এবং মারধরের অভিযোগও উঠেছে। কৃষ্ণেন্দুর পরিবার জানিয়েছে, তারা দোকানদারকে চিপসের দাম পরিশোধ করলেও হেনস্থা থেমে থাকেনি।

এই অপমান সহ্য করতে না পেরে কৃষ্ণেন্দু বিষ খেয়ে আত্মহত্যা করে। মৃত্যুর আগে সে একটি চিঠি লিখে যায়, যেখানে লেখা ছিল—

"মা, আমি বলে যাচ্ছি যে, আমি চিপসের প্যাকেটটি চুরি করিনি। কুড়িয়ে পেয়েছিলাম…"

চিঠিতে সে নিজের নাম, শ্রেণি, ও রোল নম্বরও উল্লেখ করে।

এই হৃদয়বিদারক ঘটনায় গোটা এলাকায় শোক ও ক্ষোভের ছায়া নেমে এসেছে। নেটমাধ্যমে জনমতের ঝড় উঠেছে দোষীর কঠোর শাস্তির দাবিতে। অনেকেই শুভঙ্কর দীক্ষিতের গ্রেপ্তার ও দৃষ্টান্তমূলক শাস্তির দাবি তুলেছেন।

Class 7 Student Dies by Suicide Over False Theft Allegation: Civic Volunteer Accused

Panskura, West Bengal – A heart-wrenching incident has come to light from Panskura where a Class 7 student, Krishnendu Das, allegedly died by suicide after being publicly humiliated and falsely accused of theft. The accused in this case is Shubhankar Dikshit, a civic volunteer and local shopkeeper.

According to the grieving family, Krishnendu had gone to a local market to buy a packet of chips. He visited a shop owned by Shubhankar Dikshit, a civic volunteer. Despite calling out to the shopkeeper several times, Krishnendu reportedly received no response. Later, upon finding a packet of chips lying outside the shop, he picked it up, assuming it had been left or discarded.

On his way back home, Krishnendu was chased down by Shubhankar on a motorbike. He was allegedly caught, falsely accused of stealing the chips, and subjected to public humiliation. Eyewitnesses and the family claim that the boy was made to do sit-ups holding his ears in the middle of the market and was also physically assaulted. Despite the family reportedly paying for the chips later, the harassment allegedly continued.

Unable to bear the humiliation, Krishnendu consumed poison and ended his life. In a heartbreaking suicide note, he wrote:

"Maa, I'm telling you, I didn’t steal the chips packet. I found it lying on the ground…"

The note also mentioned his name, class, and roll number, underlining the innocence and trauma of a young boy who was deeply hurt by the false accusation.

The incident has sparked outrage across social media and the local community. Many are demanding strict action against the accused civic volunteer, including calls for capital punishment.

Local authorities are yet to issue a formal statement, but pressure is mounting on law enforcement to ensure justice is delivered swiftly.
