একটি আম পাড়তে গিয়ে প্রাণ দিতে হল এক কিশোরকে! ঘটনার পর উত্তপ্ত আটিসাড়া গ্রাম। বিক্ষুব্ধ জনতা আমবাগানে আগুন ধরিয়ে দেয়। অভিযুক্ত প্রহরীকে গ্রেফতার করেছে পুলিশ। কিশোরের মৃত্যুকে কেন্দ্র করে এলাকায় চরম উত্তেজনা ছড়িয়েছে।

সুদীপ্ত পণ্ডিত, বয়স ১৭, মামার শ্রাদ্ধে অংশ নিতে এসেছিল নৈহাটির আটিসাড়া গ্রামে। বৃহস্পতিবার সকালে বন্ধুদের সঙ্গে পাশের আমবাগানে আম পাড়তে গিয়েছিল সে। সেই সময় তাকে ধরে ফেলেন বাগানের প্রহরী ফারহাদ মণ্ডল। স্থানীয়দের অভিযোগ, প্রহরী সুদীপ্তকে নির্মমভাবে মারধর করেন।

পরে আহত অবস্থায় তাকে উদ্ধার করে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয় নৈহাটি স্টেট জেনারেল হাসপাতালে। সেখানেই চিকিৎসকরা তাকে মৃত ঘোষণা করেন। সুদীপ্তের মৃত্যুর খবর ছড়িয়ে পড়তেই উত্তেজনা ছড়িয়ে পড়ে গ্রামে। শতাধিক গ্রামবাসী বিক্ষোভে ফেটে পড়েন। ক্ষোভে ফেটে পড়ে জনতা আমবাগানে আগুন লাগিয়ে দেয়।

খবর পেয়ে ঘটনাস্থলে ছুটে আসে নৈহাটি থানার পুলিশ। অভিযুক্ত ফারহাদ মণ্ডলকে গ্রেফতার করা হয়েছে। পুলিশ জানিয়েছে, পুরো ঘটনার তদন্ত চলছে। গ্রামে পুলিশ মোতায়েন করা হয়েছে পরিস্থিতি নিয়ন্ত্রণে রাখতে।

বিক্ষুব্ধ জনতার দাবি, নির্দোষ এক কিশোরকে যেভাবে পিটিয়ে মারা হয়েছে, তা বর্বরতা ছাড়া আর কিছু নয়। অভিযুক্ত প্রহরীর কঠোরতম শাস্তির দাবি তুলেছেন তারা। পরিবার ও প্রতিবেশীদের দাবি, সুদীপ্ত অত্যন্ত শান্ত স্বভাবের ছেলে ছিল। শুধুমাত্র একটি আম পাড়ার কারণে তাকে প্রাণ দিতে হবে, এটা কেউ মেনে নিতে পারছেন না।

এই ঘটনায় প্রশ্ন উঠছে—একটি ছোট্ট ভুলের জন্য কি একজন কিশোরকে প্রাণ দিতে হবে? আইন নিজের হাতে তুলে নেওয়ার এই প্রবণতা কোথায় নিয়ে যাচ্ছে আমাদের সমাজকে? সাধারণ মানুষ ও শিশুদের নিরাপত্তা নিয়ে নতুন করে ভাবাচ্ছে এই ঘটনা।

A teenage boy lost his life simply for plucking a mango. The incident has sparked unrest in Atisara village. Furious villagers set the mango orchard on fire. Police have arrested the accused guard. Tensions are running high in the area following the boy’s death.

Sudipta Pandit, aged 17, had come to Atisara village in Naihati to attend his maternal uncle’s funeral rituals. On Thursday morning, he went to the nearby mango orchard with some friends to pick mangoes. That’s when he was caught by the orchard guard, Farhad Mondal.

Locals allege that Farhad brutally beat Sudipta. The severely injured boy was taken to Naihati State General Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. As the news of Sudipta’s death spread, the village erupted in anger. Over a hundred villagers came out in protest. In their outrage, they set the mango orchard on fire.

Upon receiving the news, police from Naihati Police Station rushed to the spot. Farhad Mondal, the accused guard, has been arrested. Police have stated that an investigation is underway. Officers have been deployed in the village to maintain law and order.

The angry villagers demand the strictest punishment for the guard, condemning the act as nothing short of barbaric. Family members and neighbors describe Sudipta as a calm and well-behaved boy. They say it's unacceptable that he had to lose his life over a mango.
