A Visit to a Strange Place

Last month, I visited a small tribal village named Dharchula in Uttarakhand. The place had high mountains and deep valleys. Dense pine trees covered the cold hill slopes. Small stone houses stood along narrow mountain tracks. I heard the roaring sound of the Kali River. I saw local villagers in traditional woollen clothes. I smelled the fresh mountain air everywhere. What interested me most was an old wooden bridge over the river. That bridge connected India and Nepal. I walked across the bridge with great excitement. I felt very happy and astonished during the whole journey. It was a wonderful and peaceful experience for me.
