১. The Sign of the Four begins at the Baker Street home of the infamous detective, Sherlock Holmes, and his assistant, Dr. John Watson.

   'দ্য সাইন অফ দ্য ফোর'-এর গল্প শুরু হয় কুখ্যাত (বা অত্যন্ত চর্চিত) গোয়েন্দা শার্লক হোমস এবং তাঁর সহকারী ডাঃ জন ওয়াটসনের বেকার স্ট্রিটের বাড়িতে।

২. Holmes is a little bored, having no case to work on, and is injecting himself with cocaine—Watson disapproves of this bad habit.
