4. He is too short to reach the fruit of the tree. (Remove ‘too’ and ‘to’)

5. The poem is too simple to need an explanation. (Remove ‘too’ and ‘to’)

7. The boy was too small to reach up to the branches of the tree. (Adverbial Clause)

8. He is a happy man.

9. I have found the lost dictionary. (Noun Clause)

10. I want to tell you about this. (Adjective / Noun Clause)

D. Complex → Simple (Transformation)

5. He was sorry that he was late.

E. Simple ↔ Compound (Transformation)

1. He put it in an envelope and sealed it.

2. We saw some butterflies in the garden and the butterflies were colourful.

F. Compound ↔ Complex (Transformation)

1. She offered me tea but I asked for a glass of water. 

2. This is the house where my friend lives. 

 

G. Affirmative ↔ Negative (Transformation)

1. As soon as he arrived, it started raining. 

2. My friend is clever. 

3. The person always speaks the truth. 

4. No one left the hall. 

5. The snail does not fear to fall.

8. The road is not smooth.
