যে মুখ কখনো প্রার্থনা জানত না / তারা কি অনন্তকাল ধরে প্রশংসা করতে পারবে, যদিও তারা করতে চাইবে?)

"তিনি নিজেই আমাদের হাত ধরে নিয়ে যাবেন / তাঁর কাছে, যাঁর চারপাশে সব আত্মা

আর স্বর্গদূতেরা, আমাদের দেখে গান গাইবে / তাদের সিথার্ন ও সিটোল বাজিয়ে।

 

'There will I ask of Christ the Lord / Thus much for him and me:—

"সেখানে আমি যীশু খ্রিষ্টের কাছে প্রার্থনা করব / আমাদের দু’জনের জন্য এইটুকু:—

 

To have more blessing than on earth / In nowise; but to be

পৃথিবীর থেকে বেশি আশীর্বাদ নয়, / শুধু থাকতে চাই—

 

As then we were,—being as then / At peace. Yea, verily.

যেমন আমরা তখন ছিলাম—ঠিক তেমন করেই / শান্তিতে। হ্যাঁ, সত্যিই।

 

'Yea, verily; when he is come / We will do thus and thus:

"হ্যাঁ, সত্যিই; যখন সে এখানে আসবে / আমরা ঠিক এইভাবেই করব:"

 

Till this my vigil seem quite strange / And almost fabulous;

"যতক্ষণ না এই প্রতীক্ষা / একেবারে স্বপ্নের মতো অদ্ভুত মনে হয়;"

 

We two will live at once, one life; / And peace shall be with us.'

"আমরা দু’জনে একসাথে একটি জীবন কাটাবো; / এবং শান্তি আমাদের সঙ্গে থাকবে।"

 

She gazed, and listen'd, and then said, / Less sad of speech than mild,—

সে তাকিয়ে রইল, শুনল, তারপর বলল, / দুঃখ নয়, বরং শান্ত গলায়—

 

'All this is when he comes.' She ceased: / The light thrill'd past her, fill'd

With Angels, in strong level lapse. / Her eyes pray'd, and she smiled.
