From Katwa to the Top: Devdutta Majhi Shines in JEE Advanced 2025

In a year of intense competition and lakhs of aspirants chasing their IIT dreams, one name stands tall—Devdutta Majhi, the top female topper of JEE Advanced 2025 from the IIT Kharagpur zone, securing an All India Rank of 16 with an impressive 312 marks in the Common Rank List.

Hailing from the small town of Katwa in West Bengal, Devdutta’s journey is nothing short of inspiring. A student of Katwa Durgadasi Chaudhurani Girls’ High School, she has always been a beacon of academic brilliance. In 2023, she became the West Bengal Madhyamik topper, and in JEE Main 2025 (Session 2), she astonished everyone with a perfect 100 percentile and AIR 1.

Speaking with quiet humility, she said, “For the last two years, I have been studying for this day. I wish I could have done a bit better.” But her achievement is already a remarkable testament to her discipline and hard work, with daily study hours ranging between 10 to 12 hours.

What sets Devdutta apart is not just her academic prowess but also her vision. She dreams of joining IISc Bangalore to pursue a B.Tech in Computing, with a long-term goal of conducting research in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence—fields that define the future.

Her journey is a powerful reminder that brilliance knows no boundaries—neither geographical nor economic. Devdutta Majhi’s success is not only a matter of personal triumph but also a moment of pride for Bengal, for Katwa, and for every girl who dares to dream.

Congratulations, Devdutta! The nation is proud of you.
