Upon Westminster Bridge:

This poem is a sonnet. A sonnet is a short poem of fourteen lines, of which the first eight lines are called octave, which are followed by a turn of thought, called the volta. The last six lines are called sestet, which offers a new direction to the poem. In this poem, Wordsworth describes his native city of London. The massive pulse of civilisation is lying in calm peace.

সে তো অনুভূতিহীন, যে অগ্রাহ্য করে চলে

(নির্বোধ সেইজন যে এই দৃশ্যকে অগ্রাহ্য/উপেক্ষা করে চলে যায় )

A sight so touching in its majesty:

 মহিমায় মর্মস্পর্শী এমন একটা দৃশ্যকে: (মহিমায় হৃদয়স্পর্শী একটা দৃশ্যকে )

This City now doth, like a garment, wear

এখন এই নগরী যেন পোশাকের মতো পরে

The beauty of the morning; silent, bare,

 সকালের সৌন্দর্যকে ; নীরব, অনাবৃত,

Ships, towers, domes, theatres, and temples lie

জাহাজ🚢, চূড়া🗼, গম্বুজ, নাট্যমঞ্চ (রঙ্গশালা )এবং মন্দির শায়িত🛕

Open unto the fields, and to the sky; 

উন্মুক্তভাবে ছড়িয়ে আছে মাঠ পর্যন্ত এবং আকাশের সীমা অব্দি;

All bright and glittering in the smokeless air.

সবকিছুই উজ্জ্বল এবং দ্যুতিময়  দেখাচ্ছে  ধোঁয়াহীন বাতাসে।

Sestet  (Last six lines )

Never did sun more beautifully steep 

সূর্য কখনও এত সুন্দরভাবে প্লাবিত করেনি 

In his first splendour, valley, rock, or hill;

প্রথম দ্যুতিতে উপত্যকা,পাথর অথবা পাহাড়কে 

Ne'er saw I, never felt, a calm so deep!

আমিও কখনও দেখিনি, কখনও অনুভব করিনি এত গভীর প্রশান্তি! 

The river glideth at his own sweet will:

Glideth -glides

নদী  বয়ে চলে তার আপন মধুর ইচ্ছায়

(নদী স্বচ্ছন্দ গতিতে বয়ে চলে আপন ইচ্ছায়)

(নদী  আপন বেগে পাগল পারা।)

Dear God! the very houses seem asleep;

হে ঈশ্বর! বাড়িগুলোকেও যেন মনে হচ্ছে ঘুমন্ত

And all that mighty heart is lying still!

শক্তিশালী হূৎপিণ্ডটি যেন এখনও বিশ্রামরত!
