Preparation of Dosa Batter
Dosa batter is an essential ingredient for making a delicious South Indian breakfast.It is a very interesting matter to know how dosa batter is prepared It is prepared through a number of interconnected steps. At first, three cups of idli rice and one teaspoon of methi are soaked for five hours in a bowl. Separately, one cup of urad dal is soaked in water. After soaking, the water is drained from the dal, and it is ground into a smooth paste using a mixer grinder. Next, the soaked rice, methi, and one cup of poha are ground to make a slightly coarse batter. Then, these two pastes are mixed well together. The mixture is covered and allowed to ferment properly. Finally, the fermented batter is mixed gently, and it is ready for use.
