So he bent his head down and ran away back to the little hole where he slept at night. His father and mother had come around calling to him shrilly. But for the life of him he could not move.
That was twenty-four hours ago. Since then nobody had come near him. The day before, he had watched his parents flying about with his brothers and sister. They were teaching them the art of flight and how to dive for fish. He had seen his elder brother catch his first herring, while his parents circled around proudly.

Albert Einstein, the genius was born on 14 March, 1879 in the German city of Ulm. At the age of two and a half, Einstein was still not talking. As he was a late talker, his parents were worried. His mother thought him to be a freak. At last, at the supper table one night, he broke his silence to say, "The soup is too hot". Greatly relieved, his parents asked why he had never said a word before. Albert replied, "Because up to now everything was in order." As a child, he played by himself because his friends found him boring. He loved mechanical toys.
When he saw his new born sister, Maja, he is said to have said, "Fine, but where are her wheels?" A headmaster once told his father, "Whatever profession he chooses, he'll never make a success at anything".
He went to high school in Munich and scored good marks in almost every subject. He was highly gifted in Mathematics and Physics. In 1901, at the age of 22, Einstein was a university graduate but he was unemployed. He finally secured a job in 1902 as a technical expert in the patent office in Bern. He got world fame when he published his general Theory of Relativity which provided a new interpretation of gravity. Einstein died in 1955 at the age of 76.

Grievous Bus Accident at Malda
By a Staff Reporter
Malda, August 2, 2025: A serious bus accident occurred yesterday when a Malda-bound private bus fell into a deep ditch while trying to save a cyclist. The tragic mishap took place near Kaliachak. 15 passengers were killed on the spot and 25 others were seriously injured. The injured were taken to the nearest hospital. Five of them were released after receiving first aid. The state government has ordered an enquiry into the incident. The Chief Minister has announced compensation of ₹2 lakh for the family of each deceased person and ₹50,000 for each injured passenger.
