Who are called as Lake Poets?
The Lake Poets were a group of English poets who lived in the Lake District of northwestern England in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The main three poets usually associated with this group are:
1. William Wordsworth
2. Samuel Taylor Coleridge
3. Robert Southey
Though they were called a "school" of poets, the term "Lake Poets" was originally used sarcastically by critics who thought these poets were overly sentimental or rural. However, the name stuck, and today it simply refers to their geographical association and shared interest in nature, emotion, and imagination.
